Chania, Crete, Greece

We woke around 8am and were off the ship by 9am. Took the town shuttle to the Old Town area of Chania (pronounced Hania). What a wonderful town! We wandered lots of cobblestone lanes full of shops and cafes. We stopped for a coffee around 10:30am. I had a cappuccino and Wayne had a Greek coffee.

More walking and shopping and then we stopped for a beer at a cafe by the water with a lovely view to enjoy.

More walking until it was time for another beer and this time we had Tatziki and bread - it was yummy!

More shopping and I bought a ring and a pair of sandals.

Since we were still hungry we stopped for another beer and I wanted Greek potatoes. At home Greek potatoes are cubes of potatoes, roasted with olive oil and oregano. The waitress said yes they had Greek potatoes and we ended up getting French Fries but they were made from Greek potatoes :) They were actually pretty good but not what we were expecting.

The woman at the next table started talking to us and we had a really nice time talking to her. She was from Australia by way of England and she was staying in Chania until October. Her studio room there costs 8 euros a day!

By 3pm we decided to head back to the ship and we were on board by 3:30pm (all aboard was 4:30pm).
We stopped at the pub for one more beer and then went and laid in the sun and had a nap.

We went up to the buffet for dinner and then down to music trivia. We got 20/20 and so did another team so there was a tie breaking question. Only one member from each team could answer and my team picked me. First song neither of us got and the next song we both knew but the other person wrote down the answer quicker than me. Oh well we really didn't need another pen!

On the way back to the cabin our cabin steward asked if we drank champagne. I said yes and he said a guest had given him a bottle because they don't drink and he said he didn't drink either so would we like it. Yes please and thank you! :)

Back to the cabin for a while. We were watching CNN International and on comes a story on Halifax and then Anne of Green Gables!

At 10pm it was time for Extreme Trivia. We WON!! Champagne and Royal Caribbean Baseball hats! On the next sea day we are going to have a champagne party in Jo and Ian cabin (a grand suite) with all our bottles of champagne.

Wayne and I went outside and walked to the front of the ship to star gaze. At 11:30pm we called it a night.

Tomorrow - Rhodes, Greece!
