Athens, Greece

We arrived in Piraeus around 4:30am and I woke as the ship was docking. Back to sleep until 7:30am. Breakfast and then we were off the ship by 9am. We walked along the waterfront to catch the Metro to Athens. We had to change trains and ended up going in the wrong direction so had to change again... Finally headed in the right direction.

We got off at the Acropolis stop. We went up near the Acropolis. I love the view from up there.

We then walked down the mountain to the Old Agora area and stopped for a Cappuccino at a cute little cafe. While sitting outside enjoying the view this older Greek man and a little boy came up to us. We exchanged small talk at first but then the man went into almost a rant about Greek politics. He stood there for almost 15 minutes before the little boy dragged him away.

We then walked and shopped.

 At noon we stopped for our usual Greek lunch of beer and Tatziki - yummy! More walking and shopping.

We wanted to catch the train back to the port by 3pm so at 2:30pm we stopped at a cafe near the metro station and had some baklava (which was the best I have ever had). Took the train back to Piraeus and walked back to the ship. We were back on board by 4pm (all aboard was 4:30pm).

We went to trivia at 5pm and we won - document holders! Finally a prize I hadn't won before.

At 6:30pm we went to the buffet for dinner with Jo & Ian.

We headed to music trivia (Elvis songs) at 7:45pm but it started at 7:30pm so we missed some songs so we just sat and tried to guess - we didn't do very well.

Back to the cabin for a while and then we went to the adult game show "The Quest". Greg was our team Captain and our team won!! Lots of fun watching adults act like kids and I have the video to provide it!

I went back to the cabin and Wayne went for a drink with Greg.

Time change tonight and we gain back an hour.

Tomorrow - a sea day.
