Barcelona, Spain

Didn't get up too early today. The ship parks in an industrial area of Barcelona and it is not a very nice area for photos.

I was travelling today with Bruce and Cathy, a couple from Mahone Bay, NS. We met for coffee and then left the ship at 10am. Since it was Sunday we knew things would not be open early (if at all).

We took the city bus shuttle (3.50 euros vs the ship shuttle of 10 euros) out of the port to catch the Hop on bus. Rode the bus around to see most of the sights.

Loved Sagrada Familia!! It is a HUGE church that is still under construction after over 100 years and still has 25+ years of work left to do. It is just amazing and I would like to go back to see inside.

By 1:30pm we got off the bus and walked Las Ramblas. Las Ramblas is the main pedestrian street with cafes and shops. Since it was a Sunday, it was very busy.

We stopped and had lunch at a cafe and people watched. I had a pizza and beer.

We walked a while longer and then Bruce and Cathy went back to the ship and I wandered around the craft market area for a while longer.

I was back on board by 4pm (all aboard was 4:30) and we left at 5pm.

Dinner at the buffet with Jo and Ian.

Then it was time for trivia - 70's music. Such a small piece of the song was played so it was harder than it should have been. We didn't come close to winning.

Went outside just in time to see the sun set - beautiful!!

At 10pm there was a 70's party on the Promenade. I sat with a few people outside the Wine Bar and it was a lot of fun people watching. The lady sitting beside me got a lap dance from one of the crew who was dressed as the Indian from the Village People. :)

Late night for me tonight.

Tomorrow Villefranche, France!!
